  16. now that I`ve been working on Init-Strings for more than a month things do  
  17. connect quite well 28.8. But only by editing mdmmoto.inf manually! Plug &  
  18. Play led me into 26.4 and severe connection probs: `E0` is ***.

  20. Now that I only let atz reset the Power to saved profile (which contains  
  21. \N7 %C1) still strange things _do_ happen:
  22. When I make connects with a DOS terminal program I do get a fully connect  
  23. message as \V4 too is activated: "28800/V34/V42BIS" in the terminal  
  24. window.

  26. When I connect to that same number (university tcp/ip server) via Win95  
  27. Dial-Up-Network the _ModemLog_ says:

  29. error control off or unknown
  30. data compression of or unknown  ???:-(

  32. Now, even with standard 28.8 modem driver message won`t change to desired  
  33. \V4-style nor error control/data compression will be recognized.

  35. Even by superscribing Modem/Connection/Advanced-Setting - which is added  
  36. to registry by Win95 as second init - by giving a third init like  
  37. "ATZ\V4\N7" modemlog output stays the same.

  39. Is there a proper mdmmoto.inf? Is there any other suggestion?
